Is the Almay Intense I-Care collection a good brand of makeup?

I was looking into getting the set for bringing out the blue in my eyes, and I was wondering if it is a good idea? Is the makeup good for what it says (intensifying eye color)? Is Almay a smart brand to choose as far as price and quality? If not, what brands can you recommend-keeping in mind that I am on a budget.

Also, what are some good brands of tinted moisturizer that will not clog my pores. I have somewhat oily and acne prone skin, and I don't want any makeup to interfere.

Please do not recommend Bare Minerals makeup. I have used it before I and I disliked it.Is the Almay Intense I-Care collection a good brand of makeup?
yeah, i like it. my fave moisturizer is made by clinique.

  • Almay and L'oreal. Which is the best makeup for Acne?

    Please help

I am a senior in high school and I just graduated mid-term and I still did not take my senior pictures, because of my Acne

I need to cover my scars up so that I can look really pretty and I have had Acne since middle school.

I have been to a dermatologist and he made my skin WORSE, but my mom is trying to find me another dermatologist to help my Acne.

I have Oily skin, Pimples, and Scarring.

My skin is clearing up and I am using the Clean %26amp; Clear Kit.

I just need something to cover up the scars that I have, and I think that my Acne is causing me not to have a job.

If you have any makeup tips or some more makeup lines, please feel free to tell me those too.

Just please pray for me!Almay and L'oreal. Which is the best makeup for Acne?
i think almay is better for acne but id personally try neutrogena it is the best for acne all there products are light and oil free but they still cover and are all formulated specifically for acne.Almay and L'oreal. Which is the best makeup for Acne?
I have really bad skin as well.....mine also gets very oily.

if your skin isn't at much of a risk of drying out [in other words its oily all the time], try Cargo liquid foundation from Sephora [its a little expensive but TRUST me, it works]. It will not clog your pores and doesn't look like a mask. Then on top of the foundation put ID mineral essentials powder [mineral veil]. It is also from Sephora and is recommended for those who have acne and oily skin, because it is actually proven to help clear up acne and helps control the oil. Its also translucent which looks nice because you can't even tell its there! It just makes your face look perfect and as though there isn't anything there :)

I really hope these suggestions work :-] I know what you are going through and these work WONDERFULLY!
Neither! Try a mineral make up. Something in what you are using now is your problem. Look on ebay. You can find a set of what you need for around $20. Use witch hazel and shampoo your hair with teatree oil shampoo. Teatree oil is a natural antifungral. Good Luck
i use neutrogena and it works pretty well for me. but i would see a detmetologist if i were you or try proactiv.

    i hope this helps!
aawwwhh, that was the sadest post I've read in a while.

It made my heart want to share the well best kept secret with you! Im a skincare and makeup junkie..seriously.

Please tell your mom to go to the Illuminare makeup website.

Order the $10.00 sample kit. In order for this to work as well as it should, you should really order their 'flocked sponge'; to apply it. It the miracle I believe that you're looking for.

I promise you a GREAT result. Good luck, and I will pray for you!!
You want something thick that will cover your acne and last all day. I like shiseido ';the makeup'; and stila stick concealer. Of course finish with pressed powder.

No matter what brand you go with, get a cream/powder foundation as opposed to a liquid one that will just run.
i have oily/combo skin with scarring and pimples too.

i used to use almay clear complexion for oily skin and it covers good (i put alot on tho... but it just caked a bit)...now im using cliniques superfit makeup but doesnt cover that good.
I love almay. I have the same problem as you! Almay makeup is really good, it really covers the acne and doesn't make your skin look all cakey.

    I recommend it :)
physicians formula mineral loose powder soaks up unwanted oil. use one of their concealers on your blemishes and scaring. it lasts all day and has great coverage. its made for sensitive and acne prone skin so anyone can wear it. it also helps your blemishes.

Ebay or google it. I had to that for Clean and Clear shine-free powder
Look on ebay they have about anything you could want.
If you can't find the product you use to use please go to www.wonderful.myarbonne.com and check out their About Face makeup line. Their products are pure, safe and beneficial. They have no animal by-products in them and never tested on animals. If you want to know what goes into OTC makeups and lotions than google ';rending plants'; to see. Does anyone know any good makeup brands? Besides; MAC, Covergirl and Almay?

I am in love with make-up. These are all amazing make-up brands:

Urban Decay, Bare Escentuals, E.L.F., Smashbox, Pop Beauty, Hard Candy, Wet n Wild, Almay, NYC, Stila, Too Faced, Tarte, Victoria Secret, and so many more...

If you want to see a wide variety go to sephora, it is amazing!Does anyone know any good makeup brands? Besides; MAC, Covergirl and Almay?
I hate all of those brands that you mentioned. My idea for what makeup should be is flawless, healthy and as natural or dramatic as you like. Here are my top suggestions.

    Drugstore: Neutrogena, Burt's Bees

Sephora/Department Store: Make Up For Ever, Benefit, Urban Decay, Laura Geller, Dior, Nars, Chanel, Philosophy, Sugar.Does anyone know any good makeup brands? Besides; MAC, Covergirl and Almay?
There's not one company that has all great products that work for everyone. That's why most makeup artists pick here and there for the best products. www.makeupalley.com

May help you... they list the most popular and that also probably means people use those the most over and over again. Just go there and look up what you want.. like mascara. It will show the most popular choices. New products are always reviewed too.
MAX Factor, Bare Minerals, Maybelline, Clinque, Chanel, Revlon, Sugar
    The best is Bee Luscious

Next I would say Dior or Chanel.

I don't like MAC way too heavy. I also have not found any drugstore brand I like.

How do you feel about the new Almay Pure Blends natural makeup?

I've been thinking of going organic/green with my makeup, u know... helping out the earth and stuff.

i saw an add for Almay Pure Blends and thought it looked like a very good product. (i have had much luck w/ almay products, they dont irritate my skin or anything like that)

i have never tried an organic makeup set before. what do you think about the almay organic line??

thanks much. How do you feel about the new Almay Pure Blends natural makeup?
Kudos for you for trying an organic line!!! Their organic line is pretty good. However, the makeup is very natural and light. So, if you want heavy coverage you might have to try someting else. Also the price is pretty steep for drugstore lines. How do you feel about the new Almay Pure Blends natural makeup?
This almay makeup is not a Professional line...Organic is great idea .some ppl are allergic to natural ingredients.Organiitc can make your skin shine and stick out.a good thing.mean more healthy.but if you are alergic to food or pollen i do not suggest it
I've never heard of that product, but anything that will help the nature is good, as long as it suites you, and you like it.
I'm not sure what I think of it but I know that they do have good make-up. So why would this one any different?

Is Physicians Formula Organic makeup ok for acne-prone skin? Should I try Almay TLC 16 hr makeup??

Ug, I don't seem to win, I have tried SOOO many makeup lines, Bare Minerals, Sheer Cover, Physicians Formula Mineral Wear, Covergirl, Maybeline, Revlon, YOU NAME IT!! I can't find anything that my acne agrees with, I currently started taking an antibiotic for my acne, but I want to make sure Im not clogging my pores. I saw PF Organic at walmart and Ive walked by this product and stared at it so many times, Im scared cause one its not oil free and two its a moisturizes so idk if ill be shiny or no! but then I saw Almay TLC 16 hr natural ingredients, oil free, hypo-aller, derm tested... Any suggestions ? Anyone try any of this products already and have feedback?? TY so much!!Is Physicians Formula Organic makeup ok for acne-prone skin? Should I try Almay TLC 16 hr makeup??
Yes, Physicians Formula Organic Wear is okay for acne-prone skin. It doesn't clog pores and doesn't make the skin oily, so it's good. I recommend this over Almay and all the other drugstore brands. I have acne-prone skin, and I thought of getting Physicians Formula Organic Wear or Bare Minerals. But I chose this and it works the same way for a cheaper price. It doesn't feel cakey or oily either. And even better...everything, the brush, container, and powder is all eco-friendly and not tested on animals. So yeah, try it and see how it works for you. Hope I helped. :)Is Physicians Formula Organic makeup ok for acne-prone skin? Should I try Almay TLC 16 hr makeup??
I absolutely love this the Made from Earth Green Tea Toxin cleanser! I had been using the AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System however, I do not feel the system is designed for prolonged use. Recently though my break-outs were horrible and my skin was over-producing oil. I tried switching makeup a Report Abuse

Almay Pure Blends Mineral Makeup. Yes or No?

So i've heard a lot about mineral makeup, with people saying its got great coverage, lasts ages and doesnt look cakey, which is what im looking for. I find bare minerals to be to expensive for me (too young to be spending that much on foundation) but i've seen almay has a mineral foundation (http://www.almay.com/Pg/Main/CatProdDet.鈥?/a> and it looks pretty good lol. but i was wondering if anyones tryed it and what their thoughts are one the product. also can anyone give me a bit more info on mineral makeup, does it always come in the powdery form, can it be liquid, do you apply it the same as other foundations etc? please help! thanks in advance!Almay Pure Blends Mineral Makeup. Yes or No?
I have used this, and I only used it over my foundation. In all honesty the powder in it is good, but the applicator sucks. The applicator either puts too much on or not enough. Try another Almay powder! THose are always great!Almay Pure Blends Mineral Makeup. Yes or No?
I have not tried it personally, but my friend says her sisters use it and you can see the powder on their face and its icky.

But thats only what I hear.

    Almay Smart Shade Makeup??

Anyone use it????? what do you think???Almay Smart Shade Makeup??
    http://www.covergirl.com/

This should help, do the little survey and it should give you the colour that you needAlmay Smart Shade Makeup??
I bought it and personally I think it's crap!!! It has no coverage at all...and it didnt ';magically'; match my skin...In some places it was too dark and it didnt blend in well...but that's just my 2 cents...Try it, you may like it...

Has anyone tried Almay's Smart Shade Makeup? Is it oil-free?

Yuck!!! Go with Estee Lauder's Individualist. Great colors, natural finish, great coverage and oil free. $32.50 and worth it.Has anyone tried Almay's Smart Shade Makeup? Is it oil-free?
I have it, but I'm not sure if it's oil-free - I threw away the box and the tube doesn't say, but I've tried and I love it! I haven't had any breakouts at all from using it. I'd always been a loyal Cover Girl user until I decided to try the Smart Shade and now I'm hooked. couldn't be easier to get the correct shade becuz it becomes just the right shade for you - you just have to know if you're light, medium or dark.Has anyone tried Almay's Smart Shade Makeup? Is it oil-free?
yeah i think it is,but i would not reccommend it unless you have nothing to cover up %26amp; have perfect skin %26amp; dont need much makeup because it doesn't cover up much,i dont have any acne just a couple of blemishes %26amp; under eye circles that aren't that bad %26amp; it didn't cover them up at all it looked like i hadn't put anything on it was a waste of money i paid like $12 dollars it was a complete waste.the only good thing about it is that its easy for you to pick the perfect shade %26amp; it does match your skin perfectly
    yes it is
It is oil free, but it is very sheer. I do not like it because I am beginning to hate liquid makeup. Plus, if you are as oily as me, this would not last on you-
No I haven't, but I think it is oil free.

Is Almay a good brand of makeup?

It truly is! It is very gentle and does not cause any irritation. I have tried a lot of brands, but when it comes to choosing something that does not irritate my skin, I choose Almay! (I sounded like a commercial here. Ha ha)Is Almay a good brand of makeup?
Drug store brands have come along way, but if your buying foundation or powder, spend a little money on Clinique or Lancome. Is Almay a good brand of makeup?

it depens on what type of color skin you have ,....
Almay is a top of the line product, but if you are young and don't have a lot of flaws you want to hide, I'd think something like Cover Girl would be just as good for about half the money.
Almay is a great brand of makeup, it has great coverage, great colors, and it doesn't irritate your skin. So if you have acne proned or sensitive skin almay and neutrogena are best
its always been great for me, and has been a good conditioner for my skin
If you have skin allergies yes, but if you don't I think that there are alot better products. I like Lorel' alot.
I DON'T REALLY KNOW ABOUT ALMAY BUT I DO KNOW A GOOD BRAND OF MAKEUP FOR YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN. ITS CALL MAC. YOU CAN EVEN GO TO MAC WEBSITE. I READ ABOUT IT LAST MONTH. FANTASIA USES MAC AND SHE AND THE CRITICS BELIEVES THAT IT'S VERY GOOD FOR US. I ORDERED SOME I'M WAITING ON MY ARRIVAL AND I'LL TELL YOU HOW GOOD IT TURNED OUT. ALSO REVLON IS A GOOD MAKE UP
it's really good stuff considering you can buy it from a drugstore. Neutrogena is really great too.
    YES!
    yes
you should know how to apply make up right as well
Yes. I used to work for Almay. The brand has great makeup/skincare and it's good for your skin, too. The brand just had a makeover, so it's even better now, and made simple to find what's right for you in the store. (Make-up/skincare organized by skintype, Eye organized by eyecolor, so you can't go wrong).
Hi, If you want a pure, safe and beneficial makeup please go to www.wonderful.myarbonne.com and check out their About Face Makeup line. Arbonne products have no animal by-products in them and have never been tested on animals. If you want to know what is in OTC makeups and lotions google ';rendering plants'; to see what go into OTC products. Arbonne products are herbal and botically based.
I like Almay because it is an inexpensive product that is not tested on animals. It is the child company of Revlon who also does not test on animals. Most high end beauty products are not tested on animals, like mac, clinique, and estee lauder, but shisiedo and lancome DO! I love the Mac hyper real foundation, and all their color pigments are superior so I wear them to go at on Saturday night and such. For daytime I use almay nearly naked foundation, because it is sheer (and cheap). L'oreal is not animal cruelty free, but they have an excellent line called true match which looks very natural, especially the blushes. I can't live with out mascara and I would have to say Lancome makes the best. Happy hunting!

hey i've decided to change the makeup i use and i've narrowed the choices down to almay and natio. so if you've ever used either or both can you help me out?

i use tinted moisturiser alot...i don't think i saw them in almay but is the natio one good?

and i like light liquid foundation so what do you think they're like?

so pleaaaaaase if you could give me your opinion on either one(pros/cons would help[and about the makeup in general, not just the moisturiser and foundation]) that would be awesome

thanksHas anyone used almay or natio makeup?
I've used both natio and almay and personally, i like natio better. i suppose it's a personal thing but natio has a lot more natural ingredients, and that's something that i look for. oh, and natio's tinted moisturizer is fantastic :) i use it all the time, and its my favorite brand for it. because it's a tinted moisturizer, it's sheer, but it's nice and lightweight, and it hasn't made me break out! which is always a fantastic thing :) and if you do end up using natio and are looking for a good lip balm, they have a really amazing one. i adore it so much i have multiple ones that i carry everywhere lol

hope that helped :)Has anyone used almay or natio makeup?
Almay has some pretty nice, natural liquid foundations. i have acne %26amp; it wasnt enough for me...but if your looking for something that will give you a some coverage nothing too thick %26amp; just even want to even everything out, almay has some great foundations %26amp; powders that are light weight.

I've used it before, I liked it. I stuck with it for awhile. I had a hard time finding a color that matched my skin tone (I have light skin, but most of them were too light, or too dark, hard to find a good balance).

I have sensitive/oily/combination skin too, and I switched to bare escentuals, I love it!
I liked that up until I started having problems with my eyes. My eyes started being watery and irritated. I found out it was because of the ingredients in this foundation. If you are sensitive like me, you should try mineral foundations. Try Everyday Minerals at everydayminerals.com. The company sends samples for free. These minerals are pure and actually good for your skin.
this is what i use (when i have money to buy it) and it not only covers the acne i have, lasts all day, doesn't cake, and has actually made me break out less! since i started using it, the amount of acne i have has gone down a ton! and price wise, its great, like $10 and lasts like 8-12 weeks for me (a dollar a week!)

oh yea, i have larger pores and combination skin

One day, i decided to try those out. I came to the conclusion that they worked! They aren't my favorite but they work for me! Yes, like all concealers, they will cover your circles. Concealer doesn't actually make the blemishes completely hide. It just covers the redness so you can't really see it. Good Luck and Have fun!!!

-Sam :)Almay Smart Shade Makeup? (10 points, thanks!) :)?
hey i bough almay and it doesnt work at all...it doesnt cover anything at all and then fades right away leaving you looking like a mess...i've been using make up fro years now and i beleive the best products are:

Cover Girl Clean Makeup (liquid foundation) (put this on first cuz it will cover up everything)

Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline (put this on over the liquid coverup and it will give you a natural look)

and just cover up any other last spots with Cover Girl concealer stick (usually you have to use concealer first but i do it the other way around because it works better for me so you can choose what is best for you)

use these three steps and you will see the difference, I have a lot of acne and blemishes and i can guarantee that it works, also make sure you use a good moisturizer on ur face first so that the makeup doesnt look flaky and dry.

then just finish up with some blush and eyeliner if you like...i would suggest that you not use mascara because it ruins ur eyelashes...use vaseline instead, your lashes will look darker and fuller.

i had amazing long thick eyelashes and now i have barely anything left cuz of mascara...it sucks big time!

i hope this helps and if you have any other questions about makeup just message me...i know a lot of tips and tricks to help you.

i hope this works for you and the make up i suggested is very cheap all three items will cost you about 20 dollars and they will last about 3-4 months...it is totally worth it!
i dont think it does at all

i have a few blemishes and it doesnt stay covered all day.

i would recommend neutrogena skin clearing i think thats what its called. there are alot of shades and it stays on all day through whatever your doing.

sooo i wouldnt try it for your first one or ever :)

    Almay smart shade makeup.?

does it provide good coverage of acne?Almay smart shade makeup.?
This personally did not work for me. I have about 1-2 pimples at any given time, but I also have darks marks and redness from past ance. I used the Almay skin claring line and the medium smart shade and was just not happy with the coverage. It looks cakey on the pimples. I just recently started using MAC Studio Fix foundation. It is about $25 a bottle, but I find I don't go through it as fast. A little goes a long way where as when I was using drug store brands I had to use alot more to get the coverage I want and need to blend and cover all my imperfections. Plus it seems to control oil much better when I use it with the blot powder. I only have to touch up 2-3 times instead of 5-6. Good luck!Almay smart shade makeup.?
    nope. blocked my pores.
depends on how bad it is, does a good job
my friend with acne tried it and it didnt provide good coverage. honestly, i would try bare minerals. i have used it for 3 years and i swear by this stuff. i rarely get pimples but when i do it provides great covereage. and unlike almost all the other foundations, it is actually good for you skin. seriously, do yourself a favor and get it. i promise you will love it and it will change your skin.
I went on a makeup-trying spree, and I was drawn in by the attraction of having a makeup that actually matched my skin.

NO it doesn't provide good coverage of anything.

It matched my skin color, but it also didn't look like I had any coverage at all. I would have probably been better off not wearing anything. : /
No makeup can cover the texture.

I just came back from a revlon conference and they let us try Almay Smart Shade. And it truly does work but make sure you you pick the right one there are three: 1. light to medium 2.medium to dark 3. dark to tan. It costs about between 8 to 12 dollars. The pros are you don't have to try and figure out what colour to buy and it matches your skin. anyone tried this? does it work? does it make you look flawless? does it look good? does it give you the right shade?

    =]Almay Smart Shade Makeup?
I love this make up; I have been using it since it first came out from season to season (I get very tan in the summer). It makes it very easy if you have a skintone that is often hard to match and is very easy to blend. It is great for many different types of skin and has good coverage while not feeling to heavy or greasy. I just get a small amount on my hand and dot it onto my face then blend it evenly with a makeup sponge or even my fingers. The face powder and other make up products by almay also work well because you can chose them based on your skin type.

    Good Luck!!!Almay Smart Shade Makeup?
i heard of it and heard its pretty good
    to answer all your questions...

    1) tried it...

    2) didn't work

    3) didn't make me look flawless

    4) it didn't even make it to my face, since

    5) their very lightest shade was like a hideous orangey-brown shade that was nowhere near my natural (fair) skintone.

it was a weird consistency of a bunch of little black pearl thingies that would burst into the base color when you rubbed it in with your finger.

but i do know someone who likes it a lot (darker skintone than me). so who knows, maybe it'll work for you. :)
